Munden House is the family seat of Henry Holland-Hibbert, Viscount Knutsford, who also holds the title Lord of the Manor of Bricket Wood Common. A path along the Hertfordshire Way follows the line of an old carriage avenue that once led directly to the house, indicating a grander historic approach than survives today.
Architecture
Munden House is listed Grade II. A separate river lodge stands near the old avenue by the Hertfordshire Way.
Worth knowing
The house and its grounds have appeared on screen repeatedly, used as a filming location for Mrs Dalloway, Poirot, Midsomer Murders, Jonathan Creek, Endeavour, Silent Witness and the 2004 Rosemary & Thyme episode "Swords into Ploughshares", where it played "Engleton Park".
